The American Wirehair is a pure American breed of cat that was created by natural mutation in the state of New York in 1966. Its distinctive feature is its curly, wire-like fur all over its body, including its whiskers. It is calm, friendly, and easy to care for. It is considered one of the rarest species of CFA.
